Sheltered accomodation

Sheltered accommodation is like normal housing where you can live as long as you wish, or are able to. It features practically designed apartments with communal facilities. Among other things, accessibility means the buildings have lifts, the bathrooms are adapted for those with more limited mobility, there are no (or low) thresholds in the accommodation and the entrances are easily accessible by car. All residents should easily be able to enter or leave their accommodation. Our sheltered accommodation combines the privacy of your own apartment with the cooperative spirit generated by the communal facilities.

Unlike our senior accommodation, the sheltered accommodation is staffed by a warden who is on site at certain times of the day and certain days of the week. Living in sheltered accommodation is not about receiving care – it means enjoying additional services such as assistance from wardens and access to communal facilities for various activities. Wardens will not perform the tasks of home care services or maintenance officers, but provide more social support for residents.

Our sheltered accommodation is located in Kalix on Tallhedsgatan 1.

In order to apply for sheltered accommodation with us the contract holder must be 70 years of age; however, there is no requirement that everyone in the household must be aged 70 or over.

The apartments belonging to our senior and sheltered accommodation are managed and allocated through Kalixbo’s regular waiting list. If you would like to register on the waiting list for senior or sheltered accommodation and have an application subscription, access your preferences on the registration of interest under My pages and select your preferred type of accommodation. You will be sent an e-mail when an apartment becomes vacant.
